Losing those we love is hard to bear. This time of grief is compounded by the challenge of organizing just the right farewell to suit the unique individual who is no longer in our world.

Our firm helps clients plan and produce memorable ceremonies to mark the passing of their loved ones. We work with those who have just lost someone and also those who want to plan their own farewells. The brochure which follows explains both time of need and advance planning options.

Services include

At Time of Need:

Initial complimentary consultation to discuss options for obituary and memorial/reception
Accompany family to the mortuary
Help write and edit the obituary, and place it online, in daily newspapers, and alumni magazines
Recommend and secure an appropriate venue
Secure the appropriate officiant: pastor, rabbi, emcee, friend
Advise on the eulogy, music, scripture reading, poetry, video or photo display, etc.
Coordinate the reception details including caterer, staff, AV, rentals, etc.
Design and produce a beautiful printed program
Coordinate and supervise all details of the memorial and reception including the venue lighting, sound system, officiant and speakers’ text (providing assistance if asked), music, musicians, seating, parking, photo and floral displays, video, etc.

Fee for Time of Need Service:

There is an initial complimentary consultation. If we are engaged to assist you, we go to work immediately following that meeting. Our fee is $80/hour during the usual 10-12 day period that it takes to produce the obituary and the obituary, memorial and reception. We offer a discounted rate of $60/hour to friends, family, and referrals from churches, hospitals, hospices, senior living centers, and mortuaries.

Advance Planning:

You may opt to create your own obituary and memorial plan in advance just as Sen. John McCain did. We have a practical plan to assist you in planning ahead. We work with you over an intense two-week period. The result is an obituary draft that can be updated at time of need along with a complete plan for the memorial and reception.

You will receive copies to go over with your family, for your executor,and our office will retain a copy.
